Well, I know they claimed there were 99 male Smurfs and 1 Female Smurf, but I am doubting the census. Seems like bad math to me.
I especially hated those last 4 smurfs.

My theory is that there are 68 going by the cartoon, 69 going by the comics, and 66 or 67 going by the movies. Let me explain...Smurfs have four fingers on each hand(including thumbs), this is a plot point in their first appearance "La Flûte à six trous" (called "The Smurfs and the Magic Flute" in English). Since they only have 8 total fingers, I think they would have used base-8 math instead of base-10. In base-8, 100 would be 64 in base-10. Now, in the story where they needed to do the dance of 100 smurfs, they were one short (which implies to me, given my base-8 theory, that there are at that point 63 Smurfs. There is then a magical duplicate of Vanity which brings it up to 64. Now here s where there s differences in the various versions. In the comics, Smurfette isn t living in the village at the time of the dance of the 100 Smurfs, so she wouldn t count as one of the 64, but she is in the village in the Cartoon, so she would count as one of the 64. So at this point in the comics there are 65 and in the cartoon there are 64. After this point Baby Smurf arrives in the village, then the Smurflings make Sassette, and Grandpa and Nanny Smurf show up. So that would be 68 in the cartoon and 69 in the comics. Now in the movies, there s clearly no Baby, Sassette, Grandpa or Nanny, but it s unclear if Smurfette was or wasn t in the village at the time of the Dance of the 100 Smurfs, so it s 64 or 65 smurfs, and with the addition of Vexy and Hackus, that would make it 66 or 67.
I forgot about Wild, who also showed up later, so that would make the cartoon 69 and the comics 70. Now, as for the names of all the smurfs...

I couldnt even begin to name them all lol. But I do know a lot of the main ones:
Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Hefty, Brainy, Jokey, Grouchy, Dreamy, Clumsy, Greedy, Chef, Vanity, Handy, Scaredy, Sloppy, Harmony, Poet, Baby etc....

Lets see the dance of 100 smurfs makes 100 and Smufette would be 101. the later series had some baby smurfs. i can only name a few Pappa, Brainy, Hefty, Clumsy, Vanity, Famer, Jokey, ...

I think there were 99, and then they added Smurfette... So I guess that would make 100.
No, I can't name them all. But here's a few: Brainy, Papa Smurf, Nat, I can't remember the one who was always looking at himself in the mirror... Vanity, maybe. Wow, I'm all tapped out... It was too long ago.
