Bin Laden has never been in Iraq, but the Bush administration now says that Iraq is full of Al Qaeda, and characterizes most of the insurgents and civil war fighters as Al Qaeda.
Generally Bush says bin Laden himself isn't worth the bother. He's not concerned about him.
"the idea of focusing on one person is -- really indicates to me people don't understand the scope of the mission. . . . he's just -- he's a person who's now been marginalized. . . .So I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him" March 20, 2002

Bush has steadfastly held to his beliefs about bin Laden's importance. Two weeks ago, Bush's homeland security deputy said bin Laden was irrelevant and impotent.
Pakistan has nuclear weapons, so the US considers it a sovereign nation that it cannot enter without permission.

Wasn't Saddam himself doing enough damage that Iraq needed a Bin Laden? Dictators and tyrants like Saddam will never tolerate any one else hog the limelight. It is suspected that Laden is hiding in Afghan-Pak border area, the NATO forces are doing their best to dig him out of his hole but the Afghan terrain is suitable for rats to hide. It is just a matter of time that Laden shall be hunted dead by the NATO forces.

Afghanistan doesn't have the oil reserves coveted by Cheyney's Haliburton like Iraq has. That's what the war is really about and why bin Laden is considered of no worry. If he swooped out of the hills and started blowing up oil wells, then that would be a different story. Three large buildings and cornfield in PA don't have any connections to big oil either, so we won't worry about him.
