I think you are just trying to pick which race would be better for you. You have just stereotyped an ethnic group. Stop that!
Find the good in both and enjoy your double heritage.

Wow! I will certainly check back on this question often.
I can hear the clicking of a great many keyboards already. Though this isn't much of an answer in fact it isn't at all..... I would be curious to know the percentage of African America customers you encounter compared to other races.
B.T.W......Whats wrong with asking for what you want when you are paying for it and expected to do so? Sounds to me that you don't belong in the food industry service or any service catering to the public for that matter.
Don't worry kiddo, you'll grow up and run into many a picky & rude folk and likely your outlook will change.

I'm African American, and I love to say this to you,I don't use slavery for any thing in my life. I no all about it and it sucks, but I did not live in those times so I cant be angry at any thing ,and no ..I don't like tomatoes so I will tell the person I'm speaking with ,what I want and what I don't want put on my meal..that's not being picky that's having it how you like it, because you paid for it..and all so I treat people the way they treat me.and all races has its good and its bad..
my advise is to you ,STOP worrying about other folks and be the best you can be..

Your question was "Can I ask?" Yes is my answer. You are correct when you've noticed that type of behavior. The old folks say "That person has no home training." Perhaps it is a Generational Curse that has not been broken. Perhaps it is just rudeness. Perhaps it is from lack of manners taught in the home and made popular by bad or negative enviroment. One thing for sure, it is a bad habit and difficult to ammend unless observed behavior is proven to the offender. Then you must agree that it is a people issue and not a racial issue. Saying all that,,,,What would you sugest to correct this issue? Lets make this happen,,I'm with you,,,lead the way.

Well, I'm Black (my parents aren't from Africa, lol), I feel its all races that can be picky. I've had more experience with blacks. I was even called racist by one, lol. I'm told that there is better service in "white neighborhoods," well, there better be! I'm sure whites get good service in black neighborhoods.
Slavery? To use that as an excuse is the reason it will "continue." Slavery was ended so we could have equal rights and privileges. I have the option to "not feel motivated," but hundreds of years ago I would've been lynched. But remember, not everyone in this generation is doomed. You have hard-working youth, and you have ones that haven't matured or come to their senses yet. So, don't lose hope.
I'm 21, so I look at this generation disapprovingly (no matter the race), its so materialistic and promiscuous...

I agree. I think that many African-Americans feel entitled to certain things because of their skin color. Some are rude, picky, and racist. So are people of all races. Instead of grouping people based on skin color, treat each person as an individual, not as a part of a group.

I know some white customers who are 100x worse than the black ones, and I have worked around food for 22 years. It is just personalities, and moods. Someone having a bad day will seem bitchy but may not be so all the time. I would like to know why they insist on picking on me verbally when I buy those cheap cloth sneakers...they are comfortable and I wear them around the house and yard. I really could do without the insults...to each their own.

I've been a server and there were plenty of other races that were every bit as picky as you are claiming african americans are.

Ever heard of reverse racism ?They are trying to pay back what their ancestors got from others.Sociologically,it can continue for at least a generation unless their leaders want to drag it even further.

I disagree although I have not worked in the food business.
My dealings with African Americans is that they have the same pickyness as any other group. People just notice it more because of their color.
