Is it because the meat and dairy industries have brain washed them into believing meat, cheese and milk is good for them?
Fast food, cars and Walmart?
Why does every second commercial have the phrase "Ask your Doctor?" in it...Is there any corrolation. Does the Drug, Meat and Dairy business have one goal in common that the average American is too blind to see? Why is the US dollar valued so low? Why all the mortgage defaults? The US is getting sick and weak. Solution, don't eat meat?
Any comments?

I am concerned about their health, that's all. And I fully blame the Meat and dairy industry. I feel sorry for them, that they have been brainwashed by an industry that feeds off these poor peoples weekness.
Cheers

Because we eat fat foods, and dont move enough, we drive everywhere, even just a few blocks....

I am an American who moved to Europe last year. Each of your questions is something I consider every week.

Americans aren't just fat, their body types have morphed into a homogenous, bloated endomorph. It's just not natural. My friends here say 90% of Americans have the same physique and I've realized it's true. My friends here are all slim, even though they eat a diet we would not consider healthy or low fat.

My supposition is this: a combination of the artificial preservatives, the hydrogenated vegetable oils, the artificial additives, the coloring agents and stabilizers, the genetically engineered feed given to the cows, the exaggerated amounts of sugar and the artificial sweeteners have, in combination, some effect on our bodies that encourage obesity.

Lack of exercise is not a valid answer for many people! I and many people went to the gym religiously and worked out hard, watched what we ate, and had scant progress. Something about the food just keeps us fat in America. Almost every foreigner I know who had an extended stay in America quickly gained weight. One girl I know gained almost 30 pounds in three months. Another guys..... a college ATHLETE with a hard training schedule, also gained about 25 pounds. He tried to eat well, but the weight mysteriously kept going up.

As proven in an expose by John Stossel, Americans take far more medication than any other nation on earth. It is true that the side effect of some medications is weight gain, but I don't think this is a big factor in American obesity. I didn't take any medication and my weight refused to budge. However, the relationship might be in part of the drug industry that enhances the cattle feed with steroids and other drugs to make the animals grow faster and keep weight on. That might be the link!

My meat consumption in the U.S. went down considerably and I still didn't lose weight. I think the answer is simply that we can't easily avoid the additives unless we go completely vegan and shop at a bio market.

The U.S. dollar is low because the Iraq war has shaken investor confidence, and the U.S. government has purposely manipulated the value to keep our exports strong. It's the only way to compete with China.

The mortgage defaults are in great part due to so many people having lost good jobs, and been forced to take "McJobs" instead. People previously earning $70,000 had to take some miserable position at $30,000. This has happened to many people I know.

It is my opinion that Americans are fat because of these reasons:
They eat processed foods because hardly anyone knows how to cook or they are too busy to even think about cooking. If they do cook they think of opening a jar of this or a box of that and give themselves credit for cooking. They also eat out way too often and make poor choices because there are sooo many choices and everything sounds good. Some people have no idea what food is because the generation before them did not teach them because they did not know either. Most doctors consider a combo meal a balanced meal. They are not taught much about nutrition. The farther a food is from its natural state, the least nutrition it has.
America eats too many beige foods, potatoes, cereal, bread, fried everything. beige is bad!!! Our food should be bright colors to give us lots of nutrients. And we should cut out dairy all together, its for cows, not humans. Now were all addicted to the stuff and it is really difficult to do without, but we should try. Americans also eat way to much wheat and soy products, again, beige. Just try to go a day without a soy, dairy, or wheat product. There are so many other grains to enjoy, experiment ! And yes, too much meat and badly processed at that. It can also be inhumanly derived because of mass consumerism. America, read the labels!!! and eat fresh food at home more often.

If you watch old movies, you will see that no-one is fat.

People used to do a lot of physical work in the past, with healthy food & small portions.

Now little physical work, more food, most of it too fattening and too large portion sizes... equals fat people.

As for your other worries, it's how this century is.
Stay happy, eat less, go for walks.
Not eating meat, will not solve all these issues.

The same reason Britain is composed of obese and overweight people - people ignore health advice to eat larger quantities of the bad food they have always eaten, exercise hardly at all and love their doctor. Doctors' salary starts at about £100,000 a year - because they have a captive market and steady business which good mental and physical health would take away from them.

Hmm...so many questions, where to start? You are right. It's all about profits. It's almost a patriotic duty to get cancer to benefit the economy. There are cures and preventions that no one is allowed to tell you about. The advice that we are given is almost sure to cause disease (and obesity!). And the healthiest time of my life was the three years I spent as a nearly dairy free vegetarian.

This may be the weirdest thing you have ever read, and I am not trying to force any religion on you, but the information here can be very beneficial. If you find it helpful please share it with others.

Compared to the Europeans, we eat far to large Portions. Notice the " king size & super size menu's at the fast food restuarants. Americans are Literally eating themselves to Death. There is No written Law that we have to Finish everything in our Plates, but try telling that to Americans Nowadays.

Americans r fat because of laziness due to evolutionary inventions like plastic surgery(for a lousy example). Americans are always looking for the easiest shortcut and foolishly think that there's something out there that can fix them if they pay the right price. blah blah blah I'm an American and I'm not fat. Luckily genes played a part in that for me. yeah.

Because there is a McDonalds, Wendys etc, on every corner. People are lazy and dont take the time to actually investigate what they put in their bodies. They want convinience and they want it now.
