Certainly MOMMA offers valid suggestions IF your intent is to Showcase yourself.
Legwork and networking are a larger part of what might be success. It also will depend on current examples of your work; and how they may apply to any organization/ business/ home/ you might solicit. AND/OR how a MURAL might better represent them.
Example: Hospitals; schools; daycare centers; MIGHT be in the market for murals that define areas where children will play; wait; etc.; but in that case; as in others; your mural will depend on your target markets.

What a great idea!
First make a portfolio of your artwork.
Then hit the streets.
go to:
banks
malls
hospitals
nursing homes
nursery schools
city offices of the parks and recreation
Ask for the person in charge of beautification...
