An outstanding chance Porgie.
If you look at the path that we need to follow to reach the final, it is surely one of the easier ones that we could ask for:
We play Fiji in the quarters and then probably Argentina in the semis (no disrespect to those teams, but they are not in the same class as NZ or Aus). So it looks as though our route to the final is secure.
Looking at the team itself, we have tremendous quality (Ayiza, we most definitely match up to the All Blacks in quality).
Several of our players can claim to be the best in the world in their respective positions including Victor Matfield, Schalk Burger, John Smit, Bryan Habana, Fourie du Preez and Percy Montgomery. We have the talent and skill to compete with anyone in the world.
Every WC is won on defence. That is a fact. History has shown that the most impressive attacking teams do not win the WC. New Zealand is testament to this as they have not won the WC since 1987 despite having the best attacking team at every WC since then. And that is one of our greatest strengths. We may not have the most visually appealing gameplans, but when it comes to defence, we are second to none. That is why we will win the WC, we will simply tackle our way to the trophy.
Finally, Jake White has had a plan for the last four years and it is coming together in a masterpiece. He has created a unity in the team that has rarely been seen in the past. He has ensured a fantastic mix of experience whilst blending in youthful flair (eg: Francois Steyn). This has resulted in a team that has the self-belief and the ability to bring the trophy back where it belongs.

I think they stand a chance however they didn't play so well against Tonga and the USA. That was a bit dissapointing. We must keep the All Blacks in mind cause they are dangerous at this stage but I still think we have a good chance at winning this Rugby World Cup. I have faith in our team.

I dont know about winning the cup but I think they have quite a good chance at coming in the finals. This is because the play Fiji next and if they beat Fiji which is very possible they play either Argentina or Scotland in the semis. Lucky for us we dont have to play New Zealand or Australia till the finals.

i don't ever remember seeing a world cup where one team seemed so far in advance of all the others.
new zealand has so far not only won every match, they have seemed in control of every minute of every game.
i think the only way that this new zealand side can be beaten is to play a style of rugby that they are unhappy with; perhaps their game will buckle if they are denied the free flow that they are so heavily committed to.
i think the south africa team is the only one able to play a close game, so i think south africa is probably the only team in the tournament that has a realistic chance of stopping new zealand.
i still think it is new zealand. but if not new zealand, then south africa.

Yes I do think so. It is now crunch time and a loss means they come home. We will see a much more focused team (like they played against England) in the next few games. I think we have what it takes to win the cup this time. We have a great team with some great players and I think we are looking like a team who can win.

I think we will definately make it to the final , We have a brilliant squad with great depth , talent , youth and experience. My only concern is that like most S.A teams we have a reputation of choking when it comes to the BIG matches , lets hope im wrong as i really like this team and i think its even a better team that the 2005 team.

Yes Porgie, they really do have a good chance and although some of the All Blacks are my mates, Springboks must rule!

We have just as good a chance as any other team, provided we don't mess up when we get close to the end!
