The Indian Supreme Court banned the Tamilnadu Bandh in people's interest. But shops remain closed; Road Transport and Civil Aviation are at a standstill. Shops are closed and none go out fearing repetition of the street terrors of the past. The ruling alliance parties known for their violence are staging a hunger strike. The 84-year-old chief Minister could have avoided his participation in the hunger strike for the sake of the people, as the entire Tamilnadu will bleed in violence if something happens to him. There is absolutely no discipline among political parties and in the Government they lead. Many of the past Supreme Court orders were either ignored or circumvented through fresh legislation. When the Supreme Court is not taken seriously it does not bode good for a country. India is in real peril and is on its downward journey with fragmentation of its democracy. The Supreme Court should uphold its credibility through strict penal action against violators of its decrees.

Yes, fear of state terror. In fact, the perpetrators of imposing Bandh, the UPA, should have announced the withdrawal upon Supreme Court"s disapproval, in the same way , they announced it. This itself is contempt of court and no need to verify, whether state run buses are operated etc., Had such withdrawal announcement been made, everything would have been normal. The Supreme Court has not said anything about the fast and know it from me, even Rajiv Ghandhi like persons can be assasinated, but not Karunanidhi, as he is the person who hires violence for his ends. In a diverting way, raja of chinese party in india (CPI) and prakash karat of chinese party in india (Mafia)- CPI(M), say, because of having tasted the brutality of karunanidhi during local body elections, when they cried murder of democracy etc.,
1)"karunanidhia is conducting peaceful protest"; --while the question is whether bandh has been withdrawn by an anouncement;
2)'sethu project should be implemented but nuclear deal should be slowed down', --their survival because of nuke deal is at stake.

The violators of the Supreme court judgement are those of the ruling party. They may have this advantage in mind for pursuing in violent activities. The media supported by the opposition has already started projecting the news of this hunger strike as complete disobedience of Supreme court and its judgement.
The CM should keep in mind the comforts of his state people rather than maintain his status in the Central Government. already most of the govt offices, private concerns, schools and colleges have been announced as to be closed today(monday), so they are not going to open today.. So whether there is going to be a bandh or hunger strike today, there is definitely going to be lots of discomfort in all essential services.. There must not be any future activities of this sort.
Hope that answered your ques.

This seems to be from someone who is opposing the Govt without reasoning. We as Tamil people support Chief Minister Karunanidhi in his efforts to develop the State with world class infrastructure.Of course every one in TN knows there is a particular community which is against Mr.Karunanidhi who are in the Supreme court holding many positions. They seem to have influenced these decisions. What were they doing when the Kerala Govt blatantly defied their orders and infact still defying their orders concerning Periyar Dam.Did they impose President's rule there or,are there any actions at all taken by them. The keralites are literaly invading Tamilnadu in every area of the economy whether it is the Salem railway division problem or the Periyar dam issue yet the SC doesn't seem to have taken any action..Hope every tamil person who reads this knows that a country by name Brunei has banned the entry of Keralites alone but not Indians from anyother part of our country. With the increasing number of keralites in our state I suggest for the keralites born here in our state the TN Govt shd mention the origin of their state as later if they disguise themselves with the Tamil identity it will ruin the good name the Tamils have wherever they go globally.
There is a great development going on in the state of Tamilnadu due to the tireless efforts of Mr.Karunanidhi.We appreciate him& trust him in what he is doing for the good of our state so far as no violence takes place on account of this.

Let us wait and watch what the SC is going to do,now that Mr.Karunanidhi has enforced his bandh on the hapless folk of Chennai,in his own
cocky way.
By the way,I am wondering why Mr.Softy, who
incidentally seems to be anything but, is haranguing about someone impeding the progress of the state when ,in fact, it is the CM himself who has caused a huge monetary loss to the government and the people by shutting down the state.

The stay order is issued only on sunday afternoon. it is too late to make the decision.

all the schools, colleges, and other private institutions and private offices announced holiday on Monday in Friday itself. so there is no time to cancel the holiday in 6 hours.

that why many of the places seem to be as in bundh.

i say that the government should have interferred in the situations.

the hunger strike is an substitute of the bundh thats all. it is normal in politics.

I agree and in Sri Lanka the Indian government still pays for Indian Military boats to patrol the straits for Tamil rebel crossings...The war there has flared again..Yes the tamil groups are in the minority but I feel it will work out and perhaps without the violence of the past...I saw some of that in Colombo in the 80's...India isn't as predjudiced is it??Are you Tamil?

DMK is always adept at backstage affairs. But the moment they heard the S.C strictures they abandoned fast and reported attendance in the secretariat.
(to Mr Softy)The development of Tamilnadu is not due to these pseudo-politicians,but in spite of them.
But for both DMK and AIADMK , Tamilnadu would have been better off still.

Because they think they have the power and might and can get away by defying the supreme court or anyone else. If people are smart they should show door to such rulers.
