The things that make me truly happy are all related to family and relationships. Today, for example, my 20 yr. old son called to ask me for a recipe (ok, it was one of his dad's recipes because I can't cook worth a darn) because he was feeling a bit homesick. My 15 yr. old and his friend played their guitars for about 45 minutes and they're getting so good. My hubby came home from golf today smelling like fall leaves and crisp air and when he kissed me hello, he gave me a squeeze that just plain made me happy.

My sis called to tell me she's decorated her new house for Halloween already... she's wanted this house for so long and it makes me joyous to think of how happy it's made her to have it. My other sis has a new boyfriend and she's a bit loopy right now and I'm happy for her.

I was at a political debate tonight and "my" candidate did so well and there's a lot of buzz that she's going to win which would make me very happy.

I guess for me, it's the simple, everyday things that make me happy. There are a few "things" that can do it for me too.. a great book or movie or a really good meal but usually the happiness comes from sharing the experience with a friend or family member.

:) Thanks for this question. It was nice to reflect on my happiness for a few minutes.

The money, fame, and women do not make me happy, because after sometime, my desire is not ending, and is again asking for more. The only thing which makes me true happy is the progressive realization of some worthy goal.
