Sometimes a situation like yours can cause a person to grow up and get independent. I went to a state college on a state scholarship (almost no tuition), and then my parents moved out of state. In those day, that meant my residency changed to out-of-state, even though I was over 18 (I then had to pay a lot of tuition -- borrowed). I just buckled down and kept going. Best thing I ever did. That's why I can sit here now and give advice instead of working at a McDonald's to supplement my Social Security. Whether you decide not to transfer and make it on your own, or to transfer and use your family's help, just get with it and study. The rest of your life will pay you back.

I don't understand how your family could have done this without your permission. Aren't you over the age of 18? Then they had no business signing papers on your behalf.

Family had their reasons.
And they have power that should be respected if not enjoyed.

Look at the opportunity for variety in academic environment. Turn it positive in your mind.
Bloom where you are planted.
