My best friend is going through a lot. She has had some major family issues (fights, getting kicked out, stealing, divorce...), and has been forced to stay at my house quite often lately. I've been trying my absolute hardest to help her out, because she means a lot to me. She tells me all about what happens at home, i'm like her diary in a way; i know more about her than her own mother does. But what she doesn't know, is that i can see that she is bringing herself down a lot. She used to slit her wrists, she is suicidal on and off, and she gets into serious depression. And i've always noticed that she goes to the washroom a little too often. At first i thought it's probably just some bladder problem, and i'll leave her alone about it. but just recently i found puke stains on the carpet in our guest washroom that she uses. She always tells me when she is feeling sick enough to puke, so this is really unusual. I care about her so much, but I just don't know how to help her.

Her problem is that she dislikes herself. Slitting her wrists? She's depressed. It sounds like she is bulimic. Bulimics feel like they can't control anything else in their life but they can control their weight by vomiting. Does she work? Having at least a part-time job would help her get out of herself a little, give her a sense of self-worth. I would talk to her about going to a psychiatrist if she can afford it, or to a free (or almost) free mental health clinic. She's got a lot of problems and needs help, for her sake and yours.

in my opinon id say yes; your friend probably has an eating disordder. also lik most people wit eating disorders are really depressed and have a lot their going through w/ their family or friends...thats good that youre there for her. but probably difficult for you to take in all of her stresses and complications.
used to slit her wrists...ive known people whove done this includin myself and sadly its not lik the thought of cutting will ever go away. especially if shes still highly depressed.
wit the puke thing shes probably is. because a lot of people who do throwup their food or whateva talk about it some way or joke about it. and noone really knos whats goin on unless they catch that person in the act.
see if you can get her in a pyschologist office or counsler that would help her and you because she could let go of all her emotions and tell someone how she really feels about everyone and everythin.
hope all goes well
good luck w/ ur friend!!

I would say just being there is A lot of help, you are already there for her, A part-time job would help her to think of other things. Suggest that she see A mental health professional. Sounds like she has had A lot of problems; You are helping A lot. Good job.

I have only one advice. If you care for her, bring her to the doctor were she can get proper analysis and treatment immediately. It may Sound very simple but very difficult to do so but things may turn ugly in the end. She in need of serious attention and medication.
