yes......just like in real life
i cut all of my drug buddies out when i cleaned up, and dumped all of my promiscuity contacts, too. i don't hate these folks, to each his own. i just don't want to be associated with that ilk any longer.

I think I probably would you know. Well it depends what it was..
I usually pay close attention to someone or look through their profile for BAD bits before I add someone, I don't just add people willy nilly, I like them all and there are always LOADS of excellent questions and starred questions by them for me to choose from.
One person that I was thinking of adding recently REALLY said something ridiculous and I have since ignored most of what they say.
It wasn't so much that I disagreed with them as people are allowed to disagree but they made themselves sound like a real idiot. I guess it depends how they word it or what reasons they have for being on that side. Usually the major issues are hard to figure out and i'm not so arrogant to think i'm always right so if the rest of what they say is good then I think i'd be okay with it.
Hmm..maybe if you gave an example of what you mean by major issues?

I don't think I would block them if I strongly disagreed, I would block them if they were jerks about disagreeing. When I put in a question, I don't JUST want the answers of people that agree with or think like me, I also want the the answers of people who think just the opposite. It comes down to what you added, are they just trying to fight with me about it, or is it just their opinion.
I have even asked questions that sounded as if I was on the opposite side of the pole from where I actually stand, just so I could get honest answers from the people who thought differently than I do. I wanted to get a grasp on the other side of the story, and sometimes even on here where you don't know the person, people won't say what they think if it contradicts you.

Depends on the 'issues'.
If it was religion or politics, no I wouldn't, some of the best debaters and most interesting are on the 'other' side, lol.
If it was about whether violence, abuse and similar behaviours are OK, and their position was 'hel! yeah', then I'm out.
I am not interested in people who want to promote hatred in this world.
But I guess it would be on a case by case basis. So far I haven't blocked anyone, I don't think ...
Cheers :-)

I would rather keep a contact with different views. It makes it more interesting and I could learn the contact's side of things.
Contacts are supposed to give their point of view and answer honestly, not lie and keep you happy. You don't have to argue about anything. Just agree you're both allowed your own opinions and act like adults.

I'm sure you can accept that other people are entitled to their own opinions, so:
If the two of you have "agreed to disagree" and this person continues to try debating with you and it's too draining for you, TELL THEM. There's nothing more frustrating than someone who hasn't realised that the debate is over for you.
If they continue to hassle you, block them. You don't have an obligation to be polite if you have already marked your bounds and they've been crossed!

No I wouldn't block someone for that. People always have different opinions, some are more radical than others about certain things. If you don't want to argue, then don't bring up those topics.

Depends on the issue-if it is the opposition of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ atoning blood for my redemption-YES
That is about the only major issue I draw the line at and oh yes, if they only know swear words and foul language-they are toast! There is NO need for that garbage.

If the person imposes their views or follows you around the site to answer the same quesitons just to show opposition I woud. A healthy debate is stimulating, however when it comes to the point of antagonizing this just isn't right.

I've already done it. I've taken people off the preferred list and put them on the blocked list.
Don't get bent out of shape over it. Its not like people on YA are people you see every day. You don't know anything about us, except what we tell you and even that can be lies.
