What I don't understand is how one can sue, like the State Sen. Ernie Chambers is suing God, when he doesn't believe in God. How can you sue what doesn't exist? Also, how can Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad be angry with or declare war with a country ( Israel) that for him doesn't exist?

There is no proper party in a suit against God because how can you impose the judgment on God.

For the first question, State Sen. Ernie Chambers does believe in God. His suit was a protest against a state law that would ban frivolous lawsuits. His point was that people should be free to bring litigation for whatever reason they believe they have a right to. Instead, the courts should act more responsible with which suits they see and how they rule on them.

For the second question, the fact remains that the country of Israel does exist. Ahmadinejad knows it exists; he just refuses to recognize its legitimacy. He believes the Holocaust didn't happen but instead was a made-up excuse to persecute the Palestinians for the sake of the Jews.
