Never. A time machine would seriously alter many events if used by someone. Example: If someone were to go back and stop the holocaust, that single event could create a holocaust elsewhere to makeup for that lack in history.

Research has recently proven that it is possible, but requires harnessing an amount of energy that is unthinkable in today's standards and technology that obviously has not been developed. I believe the article was on CNN. Check out CNN.com and do a search for the article. I believe it was in the past couple of months.

Yes and No.

Let me explain. I believe that time travel is possible. It is believed that as one travels forward, the faster he travels the slower time moves. So, In theory, If one travel fast enough, time for him would slow down but time for the rest of us will continue, at the normal rate. When this person stops, only a couple of minutes may go by for him but hours, days, months or, maybe even, years may have gone by for us. I do not believe that I will ever witness time travel and it will depend, heavily, on the technology to propel us that fast. We will also need to design a structure that will be able to withstand the forces that applied upon it.

I do not believe that we will EVER be able to travel back in time. To travel forward it possible. To travel backwards is plausible. Again, let me explain. The main priciple is still the same. We must travel at a high rate of speed. The closer will travel to the speed of light the slower time goes for us until it eventually stops once we reach the speed of light. Time for us nether moves forward nor backwards. Now, here is were the plausible but most likely impossible comes into play. To travel back in time we must travel faster than the speed of light. At which point time, externally, begins to move backwards while time, internally, continues to stay unchange. At this point, both worlds (internally and externally) changes places in relation to time and we begin to travel back in time.

This may seem a little far-fetch but I hope it sheds a little light (no pun intended) on the subject. Although I time travel (forward) can eventually happen I do not recommend it. Matter is design to be in a specific time and place. It is not intended to be any further forward or backwards in the time/space equation. This disruption, which may not be felt by the world as a whole, could have unknown (and unchangable) changes to the sequence of events in the future timeline.

According to the mathematics of physics, time is relative to the speed of light. If one could travel at the speed of light, time would effectively stop. If one could somehow travel faster than the speed of light, one would enter the realm of negative time - effectively going backward.

At present, the practical applications of this are nil. We cannot produce enough power to travel at the speed of light. Even if we could, we'd destroy ourselves doing it.

Never say never, though. Barely more than a hundred years ago, humans couldn't fly, either.

To be honest, I dont see it ever happening. There are too many complications involved for it to be possible. Now that ive said this, watch someone go and invent one just to make a liar out of me.

It's already happened -- it's called a watch or a clock, it's a time machine

I don't think you need a machine. Its all thought. I know it is possible.

I don't know, but if it happens, let me know. I wanna buy a ticket and send a certain deadbeat back in time to when they invented baths.

I think if you were transferring living organisms they would just end up dead....so umm I'd say no.
