Don't those "wait for green light" signs kill you?! Isn't that the whole point of a traffic signal? Cracks me up, every time.

Anyway, no, those "wait for green" signs are meant as a warning for those people who take their foot off the brake as soon as the opposing light turns yellow. It means there will be a delay between the two. Usually the opposite lane has a left turn signal, but the one you're in doesn't.

Where a sign is posted "no turn on red," it means even though right turns on red, after stopping, are legal in that state, at that intersection, they are not.

I don't know if I am reading your question properly. In California you can make a right turn when the light is red unless there is a sign that says: "no turn on red". Wait for green light might be more for pedestrians, we don't have this one in Cali. pets and fish...lol

no pets and fish... wait for green light means the same as no turn on red... you gotta be safe....
