Seems like .... the country music I listen to on the radio .... the writers are throwing in everything but the kitchen sink to find words that people can relate to ..... words that sell ......
Was it always like this or is this a new phenomenom ???

Country music has for the most part always been about the experiences of the people whom are used to suffering and having a high run of emotions. More recently the run of country music is becoming more human than traditional. It's hard to sell traditional country music to anyone these days but the rustic folks themselves.
There will always be a home for the really deep feeling songs on country radio, but the traditionalists will always be standoffish for the sound of a true country song.
