"Would you exaggerate your achievements to win the respect of others?" <<<

Because there's this pest that keeps telling me that this is a strange question. I don't think it's at all strange.

Personally, I wouldn't.
But I suppose it is a white lie which only deceives oneself.
In my opinion I am what I am and the respect I get for me as I am is enough.

Not strange at all. I think that the amount of exaggeration depends on how you feel about yourself and can be a great judge of self-esteem.

It's not strange but people do hesitate to pose such questions,lest they be misunderstood.Exaggeration may get us a temporary prop but falls flat on it's face on the first reality check.

not a strange question. I have admitted at one point or another that I do this. Most people don't really think about having done this.

I wouldn't -- because I've seen too many others do this then get caught. It's generally pretty embarrassing for them when they are exposed.

I tend to downplay my achievements and characteristics, but most people do tend to exaggerate their own.
