Then I thought maybe there was some sort of virius in Internet Explore so I downloaded Foxfire and it does the same thing. I mean really, really bad. When I say big... I mean BIG, like GIANT. Some of the suggestions like the scroll thing did nothing. What is it supose to do?

I think my boss is going to throw this computer out and get a better one. It has Windows 98, which I guess there are no more updates for. Piece of crap if you ask me!! But still I am curious what could cause this.

What should the monitor be set at? And how. I don't seem to have anyway to change anything there. I don't know where the graphics card is. It is a very old machine. I hope they get rid of it. We are paying the boss a lot each month to use this stuff and none of it works. The computer that works has the crappy mouse and a printer connection that works half the time. At least if I could ever get this computer to work I have the best mouse and printer. I was hoping to get it working and not tell anyone so I can have it all to myself. ;-) Oh, well.

I think you meant 'FireFox'.

Well, first I would try googling for drivers for your monitor.

Install them, and then try changing the res.

Find out if your video card/graphics card is onboard or separate, if it IS, then find out what card it is, and find drivers for it and update.

If your boss DOES throw it out, you should take it and donate it to the goodwill or something. Or give it to your local geek so he/she can install linux on it and make use of it!

Check "Accessibility Options". There are options there for nearly blind people that makes everything very large and very high contrast. If Accessibility Options are turned on, try just turning them off, THEN try the adjustments again.

your resolution is controlled by two things
1. the ability of the monitor
2. the ability of the graphics card
it may only go as high as 800/600, but it should go that high
