I'm wondering if it's possible to wire multiple remote controlled cars so that a single remote can control them all simultaneously (so that they move in exactly the same way). I'm designing something of a bizarre costume that I would like to be able to "drive", so to speak, when it's in a certain position, so whatever wheels/controls I use would have to be as lightweight as possible, which is why I thought of the toy cars. I'm not familiar at all with this sort of thing, so I wouldn't be surprised if this sounds quite silly, but it's worth asking, I suppose. I myself don't weigh that much, which is why I'm not concerned with multiple toy cars being able to support my weight (although it would be quite funny if I tried it and they COULDN'T, haha).

If my toy car idea isn't possible/likely to work, is there something else I could try? Are there websites, or maybe books that I might refer to? (Oh, the crazy projects I take on...)

Thanks for any help. :)

The closest thing would be to just battery driven radio controlled cars and choose all of them to have the same frequency (the same number or all A labeled, etc.). Then all the cars will respond to one remote. They won't all behave the same (stay coordinated) because of differences in contruction and the surface they are running on, if not fastened to the costume. If you are just changing speeds and showing the bottom of the cars steering, then they will be together.

Hmm.. This is an interesting question. I think the guy above me is correct that the cars probably won't stay exactly the same in operation. Plus unless you weigh less than10 pounds I don't think most toy cars would support and carry you and if they did it probably wouldn't be very long due to battery life. I'm reading into this question that you may want the achieve the effect of being able to move without looking like you're walking. Sort of like gliding like the nun at the begining of the Blues Brothers. Roller skates or a skate board might be a more workable option if this is what you are trying to do. I don't know if battery powered skates are available but I would try that first. I do know that from watching Cartoons that the ACME company at one time made rocket skates but I've never seen them used without tragic results. Good luck and I hope this helps.
