Out of those 10 themes I would pick 3. Sacrifice. Because nearly every utopia or attempted utopia (dystopia in the case of failure) sacrifice is a key factor to a functioning utopia. For example, Sparta attempted to create a perfect society...they would kill (sacrifice) deformed children to keep mutations out of their "beautiful" society. In this story "The ones who walk away from omelas" a child is kept locked up in the basement so that everyone else can live happily. In Plato's Republic they discuss the idea of keeping the people ignorant so that they may live according to the rules.
Sorry I didn't give any page numbers or quotes! :P Good luck with your paper!

I'm not a big fan of 'utopias'. They only work if everybody in the society has the same, exact outlooks, beliefs, aspirations, etc. And that means a society that's dying through stagnation.

Your answer is change.

A Utopia, by definition, is perfect.

Change, by definition, is inevitable.

Change is the best theme to use. (Are you writing a paper? ;)

The only utopia I can give you is more like a state of matter--a seed.
