If Colorado makes the playoffs I think it will be Matt Holliday. He was WHITE HOT during the stretch run.

I would go with Jimmy Rollins. Rollins played every game and racked up unbelievable stats (he hit .296, but with 38 doubles, 20 triples, 30 homers, 218 hits, 139 runs scored, 94 RBI, and 41 stolen bases). Rollins also did this while playing shortstop (the most difficult defensive position other than pitcher and catcher) and ranking 3rd in the league in fielding percentage (so he had Gold Glove caliber defense to go with that offense). Not only that, but he was the leader for the NL East Champions (back in March, he said the Phillies were the team to beat in the East and backed it up, even though the rest of the team kept getting hurt).
Holliday also had a great year. He hit .340 with 50 doubles, 5 triples, 38 homers, 11 steals, 119 runs, and 135 rbis in 157 games.
Holliday has slight advantages in power hitting, but Rollins has massive advantages in speed and plays the harder defensive position. Rollins also had a much better game #162. Its close, but Rollins has got to be the MVP by a slight margin (though it would be nice if they'd be co-MVPs, which has happened before).
The third MVP candidate was Prince Fielder, but his team failed to make it to the playoffs and his numbers just don't hold up compared to the other 2.
While the MVP will be voted upon in the next few days, we won't know who wins until a week or 2 after the end of the World Series. Rollins and Holliday are the top 2 candidates for MVP. Holliday could end up winning it as Chase Utley and Ryan Howard may split Rollins's votes.

Holliday definitely has the numbers but I have to go with Jimmy Rollins. J-Roll's numbers are just out of control. 162 games, over 700 at-bats, 20 or more in triples, doubles, home runs, and steals. He was great defensively all season and the Phillies are in the playoffs. Jimmy Rollins should win the MVP.

He absolutely can. After this week it's a two horse race. It comes down to either Holliday or Jimmy Rollins. I am from Philly so you know who I am voting for. Both players are very deserving, they have been clutch for their teams down the stretch. Rollins played almost every inning of every game this season, led off and scored in two of their last 3 wins, tripled home two runs to seal the Phillies win Sunday, has played flawless defense throughout and carried the team when their other stars were either slumping or injured. In addition to putting up numbers equally as impressive as Holliday's he broke the MLB record for plate appearances.

i like rollins because i think he's given more than holliday has and his stats aren't as inflated as holliday's stats. if holliday played a full season outside of coors, i think he wouldn't even hit 30 homeruns. check his splits, and you'll see that he is playing MUCH worse away from home(.301 avg compared to .377 at home) and with more homeruns at home (25 to 11) with a huge ops drop away from home (from 1.161 to .860). rollins give you something at every single area, he gets on base, scores runs, hits for power, steals a bag like a madman, and is the HEART and soul of his team. Rollins for NL MVP.
My rankings:
1) Rollins
2) Holliday
3) Fielder
4) Wright
5) Jake Peavy
I do think though that Jeff Francis deserves some MVP consideration, but in no way does he match Jake Peavy(even though he plays in a pitcher's park). Troy Tulowitzki, I think, deserves ROY honors over Braun because of his amazing defense and his complete overall game.

I dont think he will get it because he has too many other good hitters in that lineup that takes away from him...same with Rollins except if I had a vote I would absolutely vote for Rollins since he plays a premier position and helped lead that come back to win the East

Absolutely! Holliday deserves it after the way he's played this year! He's absolutely amazing! How many guys can you name can hit a home run and have the ball bounce off the concourse at Coors field? NOT that many!
And Tulowitzki also deserves the Rookie of the Year award as well! That kid has talent! Tulo's my fave Rockies player...;D

I'm going with my hometown boy. Jimmy Rollins. The MVP is for players that helped the team the most. And J-Roll has deffiently went above and beyond the call of duty this year. And his fielding was perfect.

Mine too. He's got the best numbers in at least 2 categories and is playing great ball. The only reason he might not win it is because he's playing in Colorado and as far as the press is concerned, there is nothing between the East and the West coast.

Your intitiled to your pick. My pick, Jimmy Rollins. No player in the National League filled the stat sheet like J-Roll. Oh yeah, and led a team to the playoffs that is chalked filled with stat fillers.
