Being a student has nothing to do with what moral values you have. Students should have the values that independent to them. As you will find even in school the moral values of the students are way different. Your values are not determined by what you are doing at the time. They are determined on who you are and what you have learned as you grow. Values are more influenced by the past than the present or future.

If you follow the Indian traditions, you will come to know the real meaning of moral values. Honesty and respect ( respect to others and self respect), are the foremost things, the to days students and everyone else should possess . If you're not honest to yourself, you are not only deceiving your self but also to the society. Definitely it will create chaos in the society and the life will be comparable with the hell only.

Same values your parents gave you. If you go against your conscience what happens? Same thing when you are a student. The reality is the freedom to do what you want is sometimes more restrictive than if you stayed at home.
But you can have a lot of fun and meet some great friends.

What is missing is the concept of a moral authority to whom we have an obligation to obey.
Mostly we all decide what to do by our feelings. We feel bad when we are dishonest and feel good when we are honest, for example. Of course, we were trained from infancy to have those kinds of feelings.
But feelings have no moral obligation over us. We can ignore our feelings. We can also trade one kind of feeling for another. For example, I feel bad about cheating but good about passing the test. What is the moral authority that says I shouldn't do that?
In the past, we all had this vague idea that God was that moral authority. (Who else could it be but God). As our society becomes more godless, that idea of a moral authority slowly fades.
