i don't have to look at his stats, I know that his game is a stat filler. he is the focal point of the offence, and he makes all the decisions. He is extremely driven and a great baller, but I would never call him the best in the game. I would only mention players that make there team better. Gilbert is not a leader, he is a stat filler. I would mention, steve nash, tim duncan, jason kidd and maybe lebron james as candidates for the best players playing right now, I wouldnt even consider a stat filler like arenas, until he matures and can will his team to wins like the nashes of the basketball world. who knows he might get there someday...

I don't think anybody can really argue that Kobe is the best solo player out there. Steve Nash is probably the best team player in the game. Gilbert is in my top 5 though. I have it like this
Nash
Bryant
James
Arenas
Wade
Since I am a Portland fan, hopefully Brandon Roy will be a superstar in a couple of years

stats doesn't justify greatness. Gilbert is Agent Zero for a reason. He is a good shooter, but he is not the best overall player. Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA, sorry LBJ fans that watch too much ESPN.

He's definitely NOT the best player. First off, he's a really good player and shooter. But he doesn't have much creativity in his game when compared to Kobe or Vince Carter. He's supposed to be a PG, but he rarely passes let alone set his teammates up. How can you be a great player when you don't do your job? He has great stats, but they don't tell the whole story. Ask any true basketball fans and they'll tell you the best player in the NBA should be Kobe, LeBron, Garnett, or Duncan.

"Weird"? What is meant by weird? Gilbert is one of the top 5 players in the league. Has been for the past 4-5 years. His of court comments are a bit out there. But he is definitely an individual with his own opinion.

YES! Thank you for realizing what good is. He is a team player and still puts up 50 points. I quote Marv Albert " Gilbert Arenas, open from 38, GOOD" He is on my fantasy team. He is on a team of ball hogs

Of course the best player is the MVP, which is Steve Nash.
It's not weird, it's close.... he's a good guard.
