If San Francisco Giants outfielder Barry Bonds decides to play in 2008, he will be playing for another team since he is not elgible to play for the San Francisco Giants.

Do you believe he will play for another season in MLB in 2008? Why or why not? Also, what teams do you see Barry Bonds playing for?

A lot of it depends on Bonds himself. Wherever he goes, he's going to have to take a serious pay cut. The question becomes whether a team that is willing to risk offering a contract to a high-risk player (injury and or legal complications) can go to the minimum number Bonds has in mind. He claims he wants two things: 3000 hits and a World Series ring. I'm not sure Texas, Baltimore, KC, or those teams meet his standards for a competitive team. The Angels have been mentioned but they claim they want nothing to do with a steroids tainted player. Seattle has been mentioned, but I think finances are the issue there. Boston can pay him and is competitive, but they may not want the risk or personality problems. The Yankees seem to be the best fit on paper. The question is do they want him?

He would sell tickets if he played for the A's. I could see him with the Angels and maybe Yankees also. Possibly the Rangers since they had Sosa this year. He needs to be a DH though and even if he is just hitting I still do not think he can make it through a season. By the end of the year he will probably be tired or hurt and that will not be good in you are in a playoff race. I would not go after him.

i think he will play in 08. it wont be a national league team cus hes a nightmare on defense and hes too lazy. that cuts off more than half the teams. the teams with an established DH's are the yankees, toronto, red sox, white sox, and cleveland. Tampa bay, kansas city, baltimore, texas, and oakland are all teams that are rebuilding and don't want to waste money on a player who will only play for only one year. Barry wouldn't want to come back to a team in california where he has too much criticism. that takes away the angels and athletics. the mariners and tigers have the 7th and 9th highest payrolls, and it makes no sense to spend money on a 1 year contract, especially for teams that are well off.
that leaves us with texas and minnesota. Minnesota won't take bonds because their problem is pitching.
so bonds will most likely land in texas. they did sign sammy sosa, and signing bonds is not as risky of a move.

Texas Rangers. He has proven that he can still hit ok (he had over 20 homeruns this year) and he gets on base a lot (I think he had like the highest OPS in the league). A poll was done with Rangers players and they said they would have no problem having Bonds on the team. Sosa will probably retired and Barry Bonds could easily fill that DH spot in that small park in Arlington.

The Athletics.
they are in dire need of another hitter and barry bonds will do that for him
plus, hes not going to go to a national league team, he is old and he needs to be dh'ing somewhere, thats the only way he'll be productive.

i believe you will possibly be able to desire to look no further than Oakland and a few $10 million twelve months deal. His fan base is interior the area and that i do no longer think the different team will take a great gamble on working off their followers and/or having syringes thrown on the sphere at abode video games.

Not the Ny Chockers, or Mets as they used to be called.
Seattle or maybe KC. Even Texas

I would love it if no team would pick him up because of his "alleged" steroid use but unfortunately there will be some American league team that will pick him up as a designated hitter.
