Everyone at school SAYS that they are having sex...but I bet it's not actually everyone. No one likes to feel left out or uncool and so they claim to be having tons of sex (or drinking lots of beer / doing lots of drugs) when they really aren't.
If you are waiting for someone special, I suggest you sit tight. You have plenty of time before May gets here to meet someone. If you still haven't met that special someone by May - don't worry. If you can lose your virginity in high school you can lose it anywhere, including in the USAF. Remember that it's the "who" that matters, not the "where" or "when".

Okay, there's nothing wrong with being a virgin. I'm 16 almost 17 and I'm also graduating in May and I'm a virgin. I have no intention of losing my virginity any time soon either. You're right that you shouldn't just have random s*x with some guy. You should appreciate the fact that you have something that all the other girls you know do not.

I can't believe reading this..Virginity viewed as something repulsive that one needs to lose it right away!..God help me!!!!. So what if you are still virgin at 17? No one ever died of remaining a virgin. I think those in your school has a distorted view of virginity. The truth is, teen edgers just want to experience sex, sex-hungry and uncontrollable desire to have sex. Your school friends are wrong for giving you the impression that's it's not normal to remain a virgin at 17. Don't feel left out. With rising aids incident and sexually transmitted disease, you better be careful about engaging in sex, even with condom. Besides, practicing sex at an early age can cause disease such as cancer in the womb/uterus. So beware.

I was older than you when I lost mine and I am glad I waited. And do you really believe that everyone at school is having sex? In the school I went to most people said they were but in actual fact, they were not.
No need to rush, wait until you find someone you love instead of having sex with some random person. It will be special that way. And it's not like it is tattooed across your forehead or anything.

Just wait. You will find a person you love more than anything in the world. Save it for the right person. You could probably lose it in the USAF but what difference does it make? Are you just going to find some random person while you are in the Air Force?

I wish I had saved my virginity for my husband. It would have been so wonderful to me to have been able to share that with him. Sex with someone just for pleasure is just that sex, it feels good when you are doing it but can leave you feeling tainted and used. It could also be dangerous with all the uncurable STD's out there. Sex with the person you love is so special and will make you feel loved and beautiful, sex for the sake of just doing it is just sex. If you can wait I would, I wish I did. Although it may seem like it not everyone is having sex.

i would really just wait until the right person comes along before you go and just lose it to anybody, god only knows what you could catch (STD wise) doing that....esp if you're headed for the USAF....so you're still a virgin? so what? my husband was too when he was at his first unit - where we met - and that just made it easier on the both of us, there wasn't any pressure and it made us have a grand time on our wedding night (not to sound old fashioned or whatever)....but i would really really really just wait until the right person comes along, cause otherwise when they do you'll wish that you had waited....until then be HAPPY that you've made it to your senior year a virgin - there's so many people on here on YA! that i've read having kids (and STDs and all) as young as 12!! Don't give in to the peer pressure, you'll only be sorry you did later on down the road!

I was with 1 person in high school. As far as I know, that person has only had sex with me in high school too. After high school that changed...lol. But looking back, young people are so careless and they don't consider the fact that there is hiv and aids floating around. Most people don't know they have it. Please take your time and choose wisely. No one has to know you're still a virgin. By the time I graduated high school, I found out that there were alot of people in my class who had aids. Anyone can lie to you so I'm glad I never caught that. I've been tested!!!

Don't rush to lose it. In the Air Force you will probably find a good career-oriented, goal driven person, that you could get into a long term relationship with.
Save yourself.
