Isn't there a type of fire that gets bigger when you put more water on it?

I think it was once mentioned on Mythbusters. I love that show

The type of fire that concerns oil and fat.

Once you douse the fire with water, the water is rapidly evaporated, and the rapid expansion that follows leads to an explosion.

A magnesium fire will extract oxygen from the water and react with it, burning even more vigorously, and also releasing hydrogen gas which will also burn as it recombines with the air.
