Move your stuff out before you get evicted and your things sold in auction. Give away the animals to other people who can take care of them. And send his @$$ some divorce papers.

File for divorce on abandonment charges.

How did u get 4 months behind on the rent (with him there) in the first place?

Try to talk to your landlord and explain the situation.. people appreciate honestly over being avoided.

You may need to try to find new homes for your pets (Yes I know pets are family , but if you can't afford to take care of them, someone else can) Find them good homes.
If your not working now, I suggest you find a job.

Good luck

I think you probably will just have to take care of it all yourself for now. If you are going to be able to do anything, like legally, it's going to take some time. So to keep any more costs from incurring, I'd try and figure out how pay the rent and anything else you need to do now.
It sounds like you guys had a lot of responsibilities coming down on you. Like the 4 months back rent, like they were starting to pile up. Maybe he ran because he felt helpless and will get his head on straight soon.
Good luck.

The first question that comes to mind is.......why do you continue to care for and feed 5 animals when your rent has long since lapsed? My second thought is you need to formulate a plan to pay your rent or get booted out onto the streets.....that is your reality at the moment. Talk to your landlord....let them know you plan to make it right....starting today. If I were you I would give the animals to good homes and let them go. They do cost money. If you are not employed then get employed. You have absolutely no control over the way your husband is acting. You do have control over how you are going to re-act to it. Your priority right now is your welfare.

Go to public aid and get some help (if children are involved) and I would get allimony also.
Try calling the bank and speaking to them, Hopefully you can find a solution. (payment plan)
Put add's in the paper or on www.craigslist.com for the animals and hopefully you could get together some cash there?
Make sure that house is in your name only!
Try selling it?

Find homes for the animals, get a job (if you don't have one now), pay your rent, get a divorce.

If he is legally your husband, I think he owes you some alimony, after he signs a notice of divorce that you send him.

If you two weren't married, well, there is nothing you can claim.

pay the rent, support the animals. if you think your entitled to something from him that he doesn't owe, good luck. (i.e... was he a part of the lease? were the animals his to begin with? because he left, do you assume he "owes" you? etc....)
