Meatloaf for my money is probably the greatest male vocalist alive today. Bat out of Hell has always been one of my favorite albums. The power and emotion that he projects in his songs gives me chills. There are a lot of great albums out there, Sgt Peppers, the White Album, Rumors, Dark Side of the Moon, Led Zeppelin 1, The Doors 1 and so on, but none of them get to me like Bat.

Totally...they will never be able to repeat the passion that album could invoke...I think music is a way to expand the dimensions of a story, to bring out the full emotion of what is happening and I have never heard anything more complelling...when he sings " When I am down at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun, torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike..." going on to say " breaking out of my body and flying away, like a bat out of hell!" I was like wow what would be more terrifying but yet heart wrenching then thinking of that situation where he is not getting out alive but yet sees himself breaking out...I just love hearing it over and over...and "Paradise by the dashboard light" Who dosen't go back to those blazing first nights/days when you are caught up in the newness of lust...and the humor of the ballgame running in through the song... I just wanted to finally "...offer my throat to the wolf with the red roses, so to speak..." It just rocks, I think it will forever!!! :) Take Care hun.-Rachel.

That's a great album and certainly in my top 100, but I would have to say Led Zeppelin IV is the best album ever. Frank Zappa "Sheik Yurbuti" is a very close second.

Duke Ellington (if you don't know who he was... wikipedia it) said there are only 2 kinds of music... GOOD and bad. Meatloaf falls into the latter category. Well... you ASKED for my opinion... and...
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.
