The Institute for Children's Literature makes their money teaching wannabees how to write children's books. They do not guarantee publication.

Yes I have when I first started writing. They told me I was the best they ever heard from. So then they said they wanted me to send them $1000 to get published and get their professional training. I never contacted them sense and that has been 3 years ago and they are still sending me mail. Stay away from them.

i did and they sent me a test asking me to write a paragraph on selected subjects for different ages. i did and they sent back their evaluation saying i was great but needed their tutoring and help to get published--- FOR A FEE. its a scam, they'll tell you you're great no matter what and try to get money from you. if you want to write, publish stuff online and you could get noticed or submit brief articles to parent magazines. good luck. :o)
