I just retiled my bathroom floor and the flange sits well below the new tiles.

Will flange extensions, also known as spacers, work?

Are they stackable?

Self sealing?

Are they mounted below or on top of the flange?

Thanks!

That was a useless answer, but thank you anyway.

Stack and seal closet flange spacer. Last item on this page. Replaced several failed wax rings because space between toilet and flange was to great

I've come across a good fix in this situation. First determine if you have a 4" or 3" line. Home supply companys have an expanding flange that you stick in the hole with the bottom of the flange flat on the floor. There are 4 allen bolts around the top of the flange that as you tighten them, they make a rubber seal expand and seal the line. Then bolt the flange to the subfloor, set your wax seal in place and oriceed as usual.

Without knowing the depth of the drain hole prior to tiling; or any new substrate you added then the tile and mortar depth; I have to assume, or hope to assume you didn't raise the floor by more than 1 1/2 inches.

The wax ring sold with the rubber flange embedded is often at 1/1/2 inch which is the extension.

To have raised the floor that much without planning ahead wasn't exactly the best move...no offense.

just go buy a 4in flange ,
the metal type , they screw down on top of the tile
and buy two toilet .wax rings , one for later in case you screw up the first one
use dry wall screws. ,take about 30 secs to install,

Use a wax ring with a horn on the bottom, then use a wax ring without the horn, DONOT use a rubber spacer , if useing plastic spacers DONOT use silcone to seal the spacers together use some wax from a wax ring , You should only need the horned ring and a 1in. ring
