I'm sure this question's been asked numerous times, but what Pixie songs would you be in the mood to listen to tonight?
My Pixies playlist goes as follows:

Dig For Fire
Where Is My Mind
Gigantic
Hey
Monkey Gone To Heaven
Vamos

Now, now lovnrckets -- didn't we have a similar discussion about subjective music preferences in the Mars Volta discussion room earlier? So it's also quite likely that you might not have as much of an appreciation for Trompe Le Monde as Rukrym and others do ... to say that it's the Pixie's weakest album is also based on a purely subjective opinion, don't you think?

That's all right Prof. I was almost certain you didn't mean to say Radiohead was on that list ... you seem to have pretty excellent taste in music (again, that's just my opinion) ;-P

My favourites are:

Hey
Break My Body
Dig For Fire
Velouria
Subbacultcha
Where Is My Mind
Monkey Gone To Heaven
There Goes My Gun

And lovnrckets, what do you mean their most unimpressive album, they don't have any unimpressive albums. They're all great! I'm assuming you mean "Trompe le Monde"? That's got loads of great songs on it.

Edit:
Ok, I'll admit that it's not their best album, and probably nowhere nere as good as Doolittle of Surfer Rosa. Still, I would've said it's slightly better than Bossanova. I guess I just get a little defensive when it comes to the Pixies :)

My favorite Pixies song probably came from their least impressive album. And don't worry, this question wouldn't come close to my top ten list of over-asked R&P items.

Alec Eiffel - love this song!
Bone Machine
Gigantic
Break My Body
Wave of Mutilation
Debaser

rukrym - Even great bands have at least one album that isn't as good as the rest of their output. While I would still consider Trompe le Monde a very good album, it's not quite up there with Doolittle, Surfer Rosa or Bossanova. No shame in that.

I'd go with Alec Eiffel.

Moreso, I just wanted to chime in on the Trompe Le Monde debate. That one is my favorite personally, but lovenrckts does have Frank Black's vote. For some reason, and I don't get it he has no love for that album.

Also, I edited the answer on the other question, but I was actually refering to Radiohead as a "smart band" that I like. Trust me, I would never do Radiohead like that.

I absolutely love Monkey Gone To Heaven.

But my FAVORITE Pixies song isn't even a Pixies song. I totally, absolutely, positively ADORE the cover of Head On they did. It rocks so way more than the Jesus & Mary Chain's version.

Where is My Mind and Monkey Gone to Heaven were the first two that came to my mind...

I also love Gigantic, as one of my close friends is Paul and we sing it a lot!

Bone Machine also holds a special place in my heart because it is the first song I ever heard from them.

Alec Eiffel is my fave but I loved them.....Frank Black is a genius!!! The Pixies could save music as we know it right now if they were still around!! We may not have to read the lame 'Who likes Fall Out Boy" or even worse MCR questions here!!!
