Yes. It was in the sixties. We learned civics -- how the government works, what the Constitution and Bill of Rights say, and what opportunity cost is; diagramming sentences -- which teaches you parts of speech and usage; spelling, grammar, punctuation; business math -- how to keep books; Latin, French, music, art, literature, and had accelerated classes -- all in public school. Today phonetics pass, civics is no longer taught, music and art are largely not available, Latin -- the base for all the romance languages and medical/legal terminology -- has been dropped and literature (accelerated classes) is rare, so we end with phonetic spelling, atrocious grammar, not knowing how America is supposed to work, word usage full of error, many don't know the difference between assets and liabilities or whether they have musical talent or artistic potential. I miss it because we still need all of it. Plus, it was just flat FUN.

nope, i'm still in it, i'm finally a senior, and i can't wait to leave and meet people who actually possess some intelligence and are able to socialize without stealing cheap vodka from their mommies and daddies...ughhh - i don't think anyone really remembers what high school was like, or really knows what it is like for kids these days

No. What a waste of time! If I could do it over, I would have skipped it and used that time to get through college faster. I got my PHD in five years.

Nope.
Right after I graduated, I did.
Now, *13 years later* I don't miss a thing.

My youth. Sorry, high school wasn't traumatic, but it definitely was my first experience with rich vs. poor; it is no fun being poor.
