It is a noun. You can verbize it by changing it to "grasshopping" as in "The locust's mode of travel in the field was grasshopping from plant to plant."

I don't think the word grasshopper is a verb but hop is and it's in the word grasshopper. I think that you should look it up in the dictionary or in Google.

"Grasshopper" is a noun. A grasshopper is common insect with long legs that jumps around and sometimes chirps. Google for images of a grasshopper, if you want to know exactly what it is.

Grasshopper is verbal only in the sense that if you drink enough of them, you'll feel as though you could do anything you wanted.
