The Cavs should resign him if they can; but he's not worth that $10 million a year asking price.

Maybe the highest would be $7 million, that's about it.

Varejao is an excellent player. About that shot, he was open right next the the rim. It bounced out. So it was a good shot, just the ball didn't roll in his favor. Imagine what would have happened if he made it.

And Lebron missed a lot of clutch shots, how come he's not getting the criticism that Varejao is getting?

He's a high energy guy that's only good when coming off the bench. Varejao doesn't have enough offense to be a starter, gets into foul trouble too easily too. But always the type of player that you want on your team because he does all the little things that help a team wins. Now, if he would just stop flopping and crying for calls all the time, he can be a lot more likable.
The Cavs should definitely resign him, but only for a decent amount. He's not worth anything more than 6-8 mill a year.

Seems to be motivated by pure greed. It appears highly suspicious that his breakout season comes when his contract is up for him to be resigned. He could delve back into obscurity, mediocrity and laziness when he gets that fat contract. He's a regular Bonzi Wells, but with lots less talent. He's a good rebounder and hustle player, but he is an offensive liability, and he is a mediocre defender. He plays with energy, but he gets muscled down by all the premier PFs like he's a slab of tofu. When his flops don't work, he has nothing going for him since he'll be giving up an open shot. Also prone to fouling, and is step-slow on rotation. He's a useful bench guy, at best.

Players like Wade are getting 13 million, so semi-decent big men like Darko and Varejao asking for 10 million a year is daylight robbery. If you pay your bench players 10 million, what will your starters be asking? Even the Knicks couldn't afford that, right? Oh wait....

why in the world would the Cavs want to sign a high energetic player that doesn't put up any points. But again the NBA does throw millions of bucks on worthless players. Cavs should sign him, so they can keep on sucking.

high energy guy, but he isnt worth more than 5-6 mils per year. every team would love to have him, but not for the price he's asking. The Cavs should resign him, but not for the 8-10mils that hes asking. They already have overrated gooden signed, so is no point in having 2 overpaid PF if they decided to sign him.

The flopping mop should stay in Cleveland

Varejao is a high energy player and crashes the boards very well! He has little or no offense, but if the Cavs could find anyone to shoot beside James they might have something!

Cool! Varejao's a very talented player. He does the dirty work for the Cavs the way Dennis Rodman did for the Pistons and the Bulls.
