The computer is a compaq evoP4 and the monitor is a HP pavillion.what do I blame.Some games I have had before but cant get them again.It has 1.8 GHZ and 256hb ram.

try changing the resolution and/or the color quality. the game might not support the one you currently have. right click on desktop -> properties -> settings tab. then try running the game again.

Most likely you do not meet system requirement. It looks like you are using outdated integrated graphics that is even sharing memory from a small 256mb RAM. A bigger RAM plus a discrete graphics card with its own memory would do wonders to your PC.
