I've been using a Motorola DVR with Charter Cable for a couple months now with no problems. But today, when I went to watch a recorded show, all I got was a black screen. It had the normal progress bar at the bottom, but it wasn't advancing at all. I then tried to watch old shows I had saved and I ran into the same exact problem.

I then attempted to just record a new show and I still had no luck. Does anyone have any advice?

Try to reboot the machine.
Unplug from the wall. Wait 30 sec, then plug in, and restart.
If this does not help, then there is a problem with the player.
