Drop a couple of denture cleaning tabs in and fill it with water. Let it set overnight. This is how I clean small vases that I can't get anything into to clean. good luck.

Depending on the size of the thermos, just put about 1/4 cup baking soda and then about 1 cup of hot water, put the lid on and shake shake shake. We clean our metal thermoses that way and it gets all the funk out.

Use CLR (Calcium lime Rust remover) or Lime a way. Both will dissolve the built up coffee. Or try soaking it in baking soda (Which I have never tried but heard it works.)

I think putting white vinegar in it and leaving it overnight might work, but do not heat the vinegar because it will cause poisonous gas.
