It gets rather old seeing all the childish taunts, rants, and name-calling that goes on here. Politics is not the Rams vs the Steelers or bad guy vs other bad guy.

Our country is falling apart right before our eyes and instead of seeking positive answers and direction and writing SERIOUS Q & A about how to change life for future generations, this wonderful medium called "The Internet" becomes a format for pissing contests.

Would some of you be willing to ask some thought-provoking political questions for the rest of the night?

Great Question Gray Wolf !
I've asked a similar one before, and gotten so much Vitriol, and Venom, that I was actually shocked, although I should have expected it, given the history of real questions I have seen ignored, or mocked in this forum. I asked if there weren't a Fox News Forum, where all these like-minded folks could go and bait and torment each other, or if there was a way Yahoo could establish a forum where you had to have asked, or answered a certain number of questions to participate, then someone accused me of being an elitist, and only wanting to exchange ideas with like-minded folks who agreed with me. That couldn't be further from the truth, I'd rather share thoughts with those who disagree, and I'm open-minded, and ready to learn from others.
It's a little late for me tonight, but I'm always looking for "real" questions, and serious dialogue,....I just seldom find it here !

Ironically, when we instigate party wars, we are pretty much conducting business in the same context as our present congress seems to be using.
A better question would be why our present congress isn't addressing all on the concerns presently facing this nation instead of initiating subpoenas, frivolous investigations, bills with no chance of passage and, worse, wasting their time on non-binding legislation? Or why Capital Hill in general seems deaf to the wishes of the electorate.
In my humble opinion, when a political party leans so far to the extreme left as to accept a policy of total defeat for America - there's simply just no middle ground, no positive answers and no compromise.
When hatred of a sitting president becomes the primary campaign agenda of an un-named party - and there can be no denying this - well, there's no alternative but to turn on the boob tube and watch a Rams vs. Steelers game.
A controversial war has once again divided this country - we'll muddle through this and then perhaps we can take some real domestic issues off the back burner and start moving this country forward again.
Hopefully, we can elect a leader who will have the qualities and intelligence to unite this country and put all of this left vs. right into the proper context of what's best for America instead of what might be best for a particular political affiliation. I believe most people are reasonable - and are not buying into the loonys on both ends of the political spectrum.

The responses to the above link look as a rule unfavourable to the basis. That shows there seems to be a resistance to stop making use of the know-how yet, a minimum of people who felt moved to respond to. the choice to proceed that is utilization or no longer could might desire to come from the final government, no longer the club. that's in simple terms how the church is prepared: from the suited down. My turn: each and every so often a query would be published in a undeniable vogue that shows a 'area' has been chosen, and responses may be all over the board. i'm responsible on that regard, yet i do no longer, or a minimum of attempt no longer, to purpose to be 'inflammatory'. Being advesarial would not inevitably mean 'foe'. Answering post to maintain a perspective is the two confusing, and each so often that could be a chore to chop up the poster from the post. as quickly as back i'm as responsible using fact the subsequent, yet i attempt to a minimum of study the 'different area of the coin', using fact the 1st area has in many situations been offered. I truly never meant to strengthen right into a vicious 'anti' and preceived as a villainous cretin, yet I knew from the beginning up this became no longer likely to be a walk interior the park. i've got reread a number of my previous posts, and that i will say that some have been dealt with without too a lot sympathy or compassion; others i think of are spot on. discovering to stay with distinctive attitudes is the beginning up of acceptance. without that, human beings will proceed to run on thoughts the place reason ought to avert a disaster. Partisanship in ingrained in both parties. It is a shame that people are so wrapped up in their own feelings and and issues that they will refuse to even look at the other side. I'll give you and example: General Petraus testified before Congress; he was pilloried by those who disagree with him rather than discuss the issues. The General was only doing what he was ordered to do by the President. Common sense would dictate that the military ought to tend to military issues and leave the politics to the politicians. Personally I disagreed with the General. But I refuse to engage in partisan wrangling. Although I am a Democrat I will pillory the Dems as quckly as I will the Republicans.

Sadly, thought provoking political questions rarely receive thoughtful answers.

People use this forum to vent. It's a fact and you are also venting, btw.

Party wars are the best way to ignore the problem and blame someone else.

Because the Liberals will NOT discuss anything. It is their way or the highway. It is time for the Republicans in Congress to block EVERYTHING the Democrats do as best of their ability.
We had 6 years of Democrat obstruction, now it is time to do a little obstructing from the other side.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Because it is easier to taunt, rant and name call. Having a conversation actually requires having independent thoughts. Example read elmerfudd. Typical.

My guess is that you vote for people who do that for a living.

Am I right or wrong? Who have you voted for?
