im am about to start work experience in a childcare centre and i am not confident in communicating with families.can anyone help me to develop strategies to overcome this?

they love to talk about their kids, so I often get them talking about their kid and then it gives me time to get to know them while they are talking. Also, remember, they usually know their kids much better than you do, and I often deferred to this even when I wanted to see some changes because when you defer to their better understanding of the child, they don't feel as threatened as if you pop in critically

Know what you are talking about, smile, make eye contact, and ask if they have any questions.
