My wife and I were wondering what to name our firstborn child, and, I don't know... my grandpa requested meorge, and I really like it.
Is it a legitimate name?

Meorge sounds funny !!! why don't you name him

MARCUS GEORGE

and call him MEORGE as a nickname???
that way you can use the unique one at home, but don't create a trouble for him at school and work later in life...

good luck

No I'm sorry I wouldn't name my son Meorge, it is an unfortunate sounding name. Your grandpa has had his children so you name your child what you like and if you really want to do that for your grandpa give it to the child as a second name.

Ok i'm not trying to be mean or disrespectful but when i saw that name i immediately thought of that monster on the first Lord of the Rings...the one with the big mallet that orlando bloom's character killed with the arrow. Yeah i'm sure you don't want people to get images like that in there head when they hear your kids name. Remember even tho you may like the name and feel as though it is unique, you aren't the one who has to live with it for the rest of you life. I have seen some really cute kids with the most atrocious names and i just can't help but feel bad for them.

Not unless I wanted the child to have a hard time in life. Why make things up? There are many, many lovely names available.

Honestly I wouldnt name my child that. Especially for the firstborn. To me it would have to be a very unique and have special meaning. Being it was your grandfather has special meaning to you. Pick something you both agree on. Good luck!

If that's a popular name in your culture, ok. But as a caucasian no George is better.

I'm sorry but personally I don't care for it all that much. Sorry again, but it sounds like "morgue" and the teasing for all the other nicknames would also be hard to take. But it's your choice and I hope everyone respects that.
