The University of California at Berkeley (note the spelling) is the premier public university in the US. It has a world-wide reputation -- ranking # 4 on a recent ranking of the 500 best universities in the world.
Its Math, Statistics, Engineering, English Literature, Business and Economics programs are all ranked in the top five in the country.
