It has been observed in the last few years that the universe is not only expanding but it is accelerating in that expansion. That is way off from what scientists believed for over 50 years. They are not very sure how this can be happening.
Maybe that is what is wrong with the universe.

The Big Bang, I guess would be what is wrong. What used to be a single whole unit of mass and matter is now spread out in space in a seemingly violent manner.

"Wrong" is subjective. The universe just is. Whether something is wrong with it or not is for someone to fabricate an opinion, but its not a fact.
