Anyone know any good how-to instructions for laying down astroturf in my backyard?

I want to make a dog run for my puppies that wont turn into a mud pit over winter. Thanks.

I priced it for my ex, or rather I had a local company come out to do their sales pitch.

They would grade the space; use weed barrier as well as some filler like sand or crushed limerock and lay the turf.

Obviously any soil adjacent to the space could wash into/onto the turf, so you might lay out a border of river rock; which would aid in drainage anyway.

Most Turf is porous; and beneath it whatever you do for prep should be as well.
