I wouldn't go so far as to characterize myself as a 'happy person.'
I don't know that aspiring to be happy is realistic, either, in a world like this. If one believes that material goods, money, or fame will bring happiness, they are living in a dream world.
There is a difference between joy and happiness. Although I do experience ephemeral feelings of happiness sometimes, I often have joy in my heart. Part of this is from simply electing to feel it. Part of it is from my relationship with God. Still other components of joy come from my loved ones, my fiance, my hopes for a bright future.
I may not sound like it, but I consider myself to be a pessimist. I do not like it, but I believe it is the truth. That fact notwithstanding, I am trying desperately and brazenly to become an immutable optimist.
Happiness is real. It is not an illusion nor a fairy tale. But I think that some people naively think that it lasts a long time, when reality dictates otherwise. Happiness comes and goes, and we should embrace it solemnly when we experience it. But it doesn't last forever. It is a fleeting emotion.
I try to acheive a more realistic goal of being content with my life. There will be moments of happiness along the way.

I would like to say yes but in retrospection i am really a 'worrywart' most of the time, however, i am working on changing that.

Sometimes i'm happy, but not that much. What makes me happy is being with my freinds and cuzins. That's when I'm not fighting with them.
