It's hard for people to accept anything different then what they know. So, what you need to do is just ignore them, and eventually, after people see that it doesn't bother you - they'll leave you alone.

Unfortunately, it happens a lot with teenagers. You're in that awkward stage of life where impression means everything. It will change soon enough once you face the real world, trust me.
It happened to me in school too. I went to a very small, midwestern, redneck school. By the end of 1 school day, the whole school new. I was kind of happy in a way that my best friend told EVERYONE, but I didn't like the rumors either. Fortunately, as soon as the rumor mill dies down and you are no longer the "headline news of the week" no one will care. They will find someone new and something new to pick on and make fun of. Stick to your guns, stick to your friends, and if need be, seek out the resources around you, like school counselors and/or support groups.
Kids this age can be very cruel and mean. Please also, (and not trying to make you scared or anything) but lots of teenage kids get beat up or worse when they come out in school..so, if you have to, make sure you have friends or adults that know your routine, know where to look for you, or know what's going on in your life so that they can look out for you.
I speak from personal experience. A group of kids in my high school tried to run me over with a car in the parking lot. Please, for safety's sake, be careful and make sure someone always has your back or at least make people aware of your whereabouts...at least until this all dies down.

buddy ur in high skool thats not real life
man in my high skool if anyone was gay people would throw rocks and be very cruel unless u had powerful friends
i say powerful in the high school food chain kind of way like popular
when u get to college people should be more tolerant
but dont forget that everywhere you go there is gonna be somebody who is gonna hate u because u r gay without knowing you at all
since they are assholes you dont want to be their friend anyways
just dont let it get to you because im sure ppl will say really cruel and hurtful stuff
they can all just **** off
u r who u r dude who give a rats *** about all those other retard kids bro

People never stop lying about others. It is a sad thing, but it never stops. Just ignore them. You will gain the respect of your peers for being who you are regardless of what others think of you. Also, treat them with kindness even if they aren't kind to you. Some of them will change their minds, and all of them will learn from their mistakes. It might be later, but they will learn.
I am very proud of you. I am glad you came out and that you are happy about coming out. I was the same way when I came out. That was more than 15 years ago. People still tell lies, and still make remarks, but I know who my friends are. I also know that most of my peers from high school think well of me because I never denied who I am.

look at it in a new perspective....

doesn't matter if what they says is good or bad - true or false... you're a friggin celeb now, because everyone is talking about you!!

a famous race car driver once said something like I dont care if they cheer or boo the day they don't do anything is when i retire or something to that effect and I was like you know what he's right... and I turned this into my moto when people would say crap about me in school & it made me feel better =)

I know it sounds lame, but ignore it. They're just excited to be gossiping about something new. Alot of people don't come out at school. So, be patient, along with the accepting people you are going to find the jerks. Good luck!

It happens. I'm not entierly out and yet a rumor spread at the end of last year that I was gay. You just have to ignore them and live your life. They need to learn to grow up, and you just acknowlegde that you're the bigger person.

Woah, the same thing's happening to me.
The "rumor" spread pretty fast.
There's this bi guy in my school, and people are spreading rumors about me and him... but he's pretty hot, I don't mind it XP
Dude, ignore it. In less than 4 years these kids won't mean anything to you since you'll have graduated by then.
