If by "rope fuse" you mean "cannon wick", yes it works just fine. Be careful though and make sure you have enough.

I used to use it frequently in the 1980's when the weather would prevent electrical ignition systems

In my distant previous it regarded like that a fuse might artwork for any length Estes engine and appears like C's have been the single maximum usually used. try putting a experience head interior the hollow with the fuse, that would remedy the project. We used to try this and in no way had a difficulty. good success and need this permits.

Yes it will work, but is NOT recommended.
Best choice is estes electric ignitors,
Next is 'cannon' fuse.

I have also ignited them with 'homemade shoestring' fuses many years ago.
(I now fly much bigger things!!)

Yes it will,it is not recommended,but it will.Use a long fuse and get away quickly.Good luck.
