Some examples are as follows:

1. Cold Icy Rain - rejection or loneliness
2. Gloomy Rain - a harbinger or omen of disaster or hardship or war
3. Love - refreshing and exhilirating
4. Blessings - as in 'baptism'

Other examples:
1. Renewal (India) - spring and rebirth
2. Fertility (Philippines) - filling the earth for planting
3. Rain Forest (universal) - somethinhg primeval or ancient, foreboding
4. Despair in Heaven (Philippines as well as the Katchina Tribe of Native Americans) - heaven is saddened by man for one reason or another
5. Acid Rain (contemporary use) - hazy and scorching condition of the mind

it probably depends on the type of rain, as well as the season when it is raining, a nice soft rain in spring, refreshing, new life, rebirth, etc. a hard driving rain in winter, sorrow, difficulty, etc.
