Well this is tough considering I have step-in-laws. I love my husbands biological parents. They are great people. The steps though...oh man. After meeting both sets I wonder how in the world these in-laws could have married the step-in-laws. One is a loud mouth who knows everything. He is racist too, which is something I don't want to teach my children. The other one is a just a not so nice word. She is a gossiping piece of unfair crap. She hates my husband and we tolerate her for the sake of my father-in-law. She's just a nasty person who would be nowhere in life if she hadn't met my father-in-law.

Remember that you are marrying your mate, and not your annoying in-laws.
So if you get into an argument about them, resist screaming or heading out the door.
It's really not worth ruining your nights; so follow these 2 important rules:
Never go to bed angry; nor never go to bed sad
Instead, tell your spouse you love him(her) and then give him or her the biggest kiss they've ever had !!!!

Not all in-laws are the same. For instance, my wife ended up with *marvelous* in-laws.
On the other hand, my wife's mother, Beelzebub, was not to be taken lightly....

well most everyone i know could live without them, sometimes it doesn't matter, sometimes they can become your new best friends, sometimes your worst nightmare, and i do think it is in your interest to make sure you can at least tolerate them before getting married -- if not, they WILL become a source of conflict and misery. they are also good indicators of how your spouse will turn out!

well, it can be a way to extend your family, which can be a good or bad thing. So I guess my take on in-laws is the same as the take on my family itself- you get what you get!

In-laws are no big deal. they are just people. they will accept you or not depending on your actions.don't be "afraid" of them..just be yourself..if you are a honest, kind person and truly show love and respect for their 'child' they will naturally learn to accept you as part of the family....
