Me and my boyfriend want to have another child, but I will not have another until we agree on a name. Jimmy (my boyfriend) wants to name our next child because I named our first born, Zach.
If its a boy, he wants to name it Dallas, Ryan, Daniel, or Troy.
If its a girl, he wants to name it Hilary, Carmen, Nicole, or Trisha.

I agree with Ryan, Daniel, and Nicole.
But he really likes Hilary and Dallas. I think those are disgusting names (no offense to anyone)

I like the boy names Eric, Jesse, and Kyle
and the girl names Erika, Madison, and Victoria (tori for sort)

What do you think?

The name name you give your child can impact the rest of his or her life.

Psychology Today published a study that surveyed over 500 Human Resource managers and over 150 college admissions counselors at competitive admission universities. The results showed that a person’s first name was a large factor in determining whether or not a person made it past the initial screening process for hiring or admission. People with odd or unusual or exotic names were more likely to be rejected while people with certain names – which Psychology Today termed “power names” – were more likely to pass the initial screening. Here are the top ten “power names” as rated by Psychology Today.

Hillary isn't bad, but you're right about Dallas, it's awful. Trisha shouldn't be a full name, either -- it's short for Patricia.

I don't like the spelling of Erika, and Madison is a stupid trendy name, but Victoria is lovely.

I think you should compromise -- let him have the first name (since you named your other kid) and you pick the middle. BUT, you should get to pick from his list of first names and vice versa. That way you narrow it down to something you both like.

I'd go with Daniel Eric and Nicole Victoria.

You have a boy name
Ryan Daniel or Daniel Ryan
They are both fine names for a boy, and you like them, then why fight about Dallas?
Tell you can have Ryan Daniel or Daniel Ryan

Girls
Nicole is okay, never met a nice one
If your boyfriend like Hilary, does he like Victoria or Hayden?
I would ask Victoria, and do not talk about nicknames, until after she is born, and it's to late
Madison and Erica are cute, does he lite it?
Trisha is okay, I like Trista better

Ask him for a list of ten girls names he likes. You may fine you like two or three, like Ryan and Daniel
Good Luck

Please think of getting married before the second child
If anything every happen to your boyfriend and you are not married, it will be better off legally
If you love each other enough for a second, they why not marry?

And does the boyfriend agree with the name you chose, Zach? If he does, then he should only go with the names you also like, though he should still get the final say from the bunch you both agree on. But if he doesn't like Zach and that's your choice only, then I'd say he gets full rein on this new name, whether you agree or not.

Both sides should meet and compromise the best they can. After all, this could be a really long time to have to deal with a name you don't like. Ideally, only choose names from those you both agree on. It's kind of self-defeating to be together conceiving the child, but to be split apart by the naming of the child. Someone or both, have to learn flexibility! Good luck!
