Bi-Polar is a mood disorder like depression or anxiety. Often the victim of this terrible disease is impacted the worst when the mood swing is up or toward manic depressive. In the manic episode the person feel as if they can jump tall building in a single bond and dig to the bottom of the earth with a spoon. Often they go into a state of unconsciousness but are often also still moving and acting in the world in a marginal state of being aware of their movements and actions.
There are many degrees of this disease, so symptoms of one victim maybe very different for another. And frankly, humans still do not have a handle on what causes this disease and what can be done with it for the individual that is suffering the disease.
You can see why this disease is so horrible. The some victims of Bi Polar feel the best when they are out of control at their worst. However, the victims I have know are as different as night a day. So if someone who has this disease is reading this or anyone Else's opinions about this disease, don't take it to heart because you have the know a lot about this disease before you can come to terms with it, or you have to educate yourself about suffering from Bi-Polar Disease completely to begin to understand it.
Often, these people who share this disease are multi-talented and are sometimes extremely successful, happy and accomplished.

Bi-Polar the chemical imbalance within the brain, causing mood swings with extreme irregularity. It is a serious long term, life long disorder that effects millions of people around the globe.
There is no cure for Bi-polar, but people can live rich and productive lives with proper care and treatment.
This disorder is also called manic-depressive disorder which can alternate between manic episodes of abnormally high energy and the extreme lows of depression. Bipolar disorder may cause behavior so severe that you may not be able to function at work, in family or social situations, or in relationships with others. Some people with bipolar disorder become suicidal.
These are some of the facts of this disorder, and I have been living with this for over 10 years. There are many sites to explain in better detail about Bi-polar, and the symptoms of this disorder. I hope that helps, Have a Great Day!

Bipolar disorder is a lifelong illness. Episodes of mania and depression eventually can occur again, if you don't get treatment. A small percentage of people will continue to have symptoms, even after getting treatment.
Bipolar I disorder involves episodes of severe mood swings, from mania and depression.
Bipolar II disorder is a milder form, involving milder episodes of hypomania that alternate with depression.
Cyclothymic disorder describes even milder mood changes.
With mixed bipolar disorder, there is both mania and depression at the same time. "The person feels grandiose, with racing thoughts, all this energy -- but is also irritable, angry, moody, feeling bad," says Michael Aronson, MD, a clinical psychiatrist and consultant for WebMD. "This can be a dangerous mix."
Rapid-cycling bipolar disorder is characterized by four or more mood episodes that occur within a 12-month period. Some people experience multiple episodes within a single week, or even within a single day. Rapid cycling tends to develop later in the course of illness. Women are more likely than men to have rapid cycling. A rapid-cycling pattern increases risk for severe depression and suicide attempts.
Antidepressants are thought to trigger and prolong rapid cycling. However, that theory is controversial and is still being studied.

Well I know enogh about it in the fact that if someone I know has it, I just give them space and try to support them. Inside they are really sweet people with terrible mood swings. Of course there are some exceptions and those people I do stay away from.
