I don't know about at the same time. However, I know I am both. I think it's being a realist. There are times and situations in which I am very optimist, and have every reason to be. Other times, I know the glass is half empty and realize that fact. Life is a cycle of ups and downs. I am always on the optimist side things will be fine. Maybe it is possible!

I think so. At the heart of every pessimist, there is an optimist desperately hoping the pessimist will be wrong about most things at least part of the time.

Not really, they are the opposite to each other, it may be possible to act optimistic and then pessimistic about the same thing or different things.. but not at the exact same time

Sure why not.

I am both, maybe not on a particular subject at the same time, but over all as a person I am both. Or jump between both.

I think it is human nature to do both just some can be more than the other with better control than others that is all.

I can be positive at one second about the new apartment I am getting while also being negative about the old land lord I am leaving behind. So sure definately yes IMO.

People think I am overly optimistic, but I view myself as a pessimist/realist...so maybe you could be both if the way others view you and the way you view yourself differ dramatically.

I would love to be an optimist but I doubt if it would work out.

Certainly; the Will is positive, the Judgment is negative. Is it possible to identify self as both at the same time? I do not believe that is the norm.

I think by being both you would be neither. Because either term comes from realizing a pattern in thinking, if there is no recognizable pattern neither would really apply.
